Pacific Field Skills was founded with the goal of providing science-based wilderness education to any and all inspired naturalists. Our specialty is training biology and wildlife majors in important field skills such as Wildlife Tracking, Wilderness Survival, and Ecological Awareness. We are here to teach you the field skills that will allow you to put the 'book' skills to practical use. We also offer classes for those interested in primitive skills such as flint-knapping, primitive fire-making, bow and arrow-making, cordage-making, and many more. Classes are open to people of all ages and from all walks of life, parents with children are welcomed.
We are passionately committed to biological conservation, and we believe that the greatest way to combat the rampant destruction of ecosystems that Industrial Civilization necessitates is to spread knowledge of, and a passion for all things wild. We are dedicated to creating a workforce of intelligent and inspired naturalists, who will in turn go out into the field and bring back their own stories, insights, and research to promote conservation. The sole purpose of Pacific Field Skills is giving these individuals the skills and knowledge that they need to read the language of the woods, hone their connection with nature, and do good science.
